On paper this match looked as if it would be one sided - and so it proved to be. Church’s cause wasn’t helped by one of their players failing to turn up. This meant that they could only field a team of seven players.

FSFC always looked comfortable, applying solid pressure to overwhelm a demoralised Church’s team. This was more of an exhibition than a football match with FSFC showboating to provide an endless supply of tricks and flicks.

George Day and Luke Nicoll combined well as FSFC took a 5-0 lead.  At this stage FSFC sportingly reduced their team down to seven players whilst prolific striker George Day took a spell in goal.

This brought some hope for Churches who capitalised on the break with Dave Senior  and  Tommy Lewin pulling two goals back in reply.

There were  chances a plenty missed by both teams. The final goal of the game came from a Jack Prentice corner, which found George Day inside the box. George was playing in goal at the time!
